This card was originally affixed to a display sheet, as it was a third prize winner premium card to be selected by the bearer of a regular JBR 2 card with the number "3" stamped on the back. Many JBR 2a cards are simply enlarged versions
of regular JBR 2 cards, but this one is not. In 1950, Starffin, coming off a league leading 27 win season in 1949, slumped to an 11-15 record. However the great Russian star, who also compiled a .237 lifetime batting average, did manage
to hit .333 in 1950. Blank backed.
Size: 2 15/16" x 3 7/8"
Condition: Sharp borders and corners, but surface creases and chips in the upper right quadrant. Poor hand cut along the left edge. Extra glue and paper on the blank back since the manufacturer offered this card mounted on display
sheets only. All examples of this card contain this same extra paper and glue. Overall G/Vg.
