Minoru "Babe" Yamashita was a left handed first baseman who starred at Keio U. from 1927 to 1930. Known for his power hitting, speed and strong arm, he hit .429 in Fall 1929 to win the Tokyo Big Six University batting title. He was a
member of four Big Six League championship clubs. His six career homers was a record at that time. No wonder he was known as "Babe"! Later, he played for the All Japan team against the touring U.S. Major League Baseball All Stars in
both 1931 and 1934. He then spent six productive seasons in Japan Pro Baseball. We have never seen another example of this menko baseball card. Blank backed.
