We are fairly certain that this badge (with an attached ribbon) was worn by a dignitary at the 1934 U.S. Major League All Star Tour of Japan featuring Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. However, we cannot prove this. While our lot contains only the badge, the only other known example of this badge contains the ribbon (third image) and hangs in the Japan Hall of Fame in a group with the badges of the fourth image. Two of the badges in that group contain specific text printed on them stating that they emanate from the 1934 Tour. We have asked the people at the Hall of Fame, and, unfortunately, they have no further information about their display. In any case, the badge with its handsome motif of American and Japanese flags with a baseball in the center is a precious relic of an important prewar series of games. The owner of this badge will be the only private individual to own one.

Size: 1/2" x 1 1/4"

Condition: The badge is Ex but is missing the associated ribbon.
