Takumi Otomo (d. 2013) began his pro career in 1949 when he joined the Yomiuri Giants. He pitched a no htter in 1952, and over the course of his career, he appeared in four all star games. His greatest accomplishment was winning the 1953 Sawamura (Japan Cy Young) award.  Otomo noted this achievement on the ball, along with his signature and the phrase, "Hot ball", all written in kanji. This unstamped ball was signed by Otomo in black marker.
