While both JBR 39a and 39b have until now been listed as 19 card sets in the Japanese Baseball Card Checklist & Price Guide, we felt that both sets must consist of 20 cards which are identical except for card size.
One of the 19 cards in each set had never been seen in the other set. Now, we have finally found an example of that 20th JBR 39b card which was previously included in the JBR 39a checklist, but had never been seen in JBR 39b! It is
the card of Shigeo Nagashima seen on the right. Therefore, if you win this lot, you will be the owner of the only known copy of that card. The text printed at the top of each card back is "Giants Furikake". These cards were most likely a
promotional item for an unknown product. Furikake is a condiment meant to be sprinkled on top of rice.
Size: Larger card--1 3/16" in diameter. Smaller card--1 1/16" in diameter.
