This extra thick season ticket entitled the bearer to attend every Tokyo Big Six University League game of the season--all league games involving all of the teams (60 games in total between the Spring and Fall seasons)! The ticket owner's name is handwritten in pen in a blank space where this information was expected to be filled in. All teams are listed on the back. In 1939, the Big Six University games were still far more popular than Japan Pro Baseball games, just as college football games were followed more intensely than the NFL in the United States, so this ticket was a big deal at the time. The players on these teams were national heroes, and many played in Japan Pro Baseball after the war.
