13 members of the 1963 Taiyo Whales signed this traditional Japanese signing board. Osamu Mihara managed various Japan Pro Baseball teams during four different decades. He was known as the "Magic Manager", but in 1963 he lost
some of his magic, as the Whales finished fifth in the six team Central League. Mihara's signature is found at bottom center. Hall of Fame pitcher, Noboru Akiyama's autograph can be seen in the lower right corner. Two other non-HOF
stars who were an integral part of the team who signed are Toru Mori (just to the left of "1963") and Takeshi Kuwata (just to the left of Mihara's signature). Americans Francis Agcaoili and Jim McManus also signed the shikishi. This is a
great item for a Whales collector.
