The photo used for this bromide was taken in early 1947, when Haruyasu Nakajima was manager of the Yomiuri Giants and Henry "Bozo" Wakabayashi was the Osaka Tigers skipper. Nakajima was fired early in the season after the Giants
got off to a slow start. He reached the Hall of Fame due to his skills as a player, rather than for his brief career as a manager. In 1938 he won the triple crown. Wakabayashi was successful in both realms. As a pitcher, he went 237-144,
1.99. As a manager he won two Japan Pro Baseball titles. Blank backed.
Size: 3 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Condition: A bit of surface peeling or chipping at the left border and upper right corner. Some missing and extra paper on the blank back due to the card's having been glued into a photo album at one time. No creases.
