Sugoroku is a dice game played on a paper game "board". This sugoroku has 20 squares, each with an attractive, realistic color drawing of a Japan Pro Baseball star. With each roll of the dice, a player's piece is moved around the board until he reaches the center and is declared the winner. Sugoroku depicting various themes (not just baseball) were quite popular, especially during the late 1940s and early 1950s. This sugoroku was never used. The artwork on the piece is spectacular. The player images are very realistic, more so than on most early menko cards. Players depicted on the game board (per square number)--1. Michio Nishizawa (HOF), 2. Hiroyoshi Komatsubara, 3. Hideo Shimizu, 4. Noboru Aota (HOF), 5. Michinori Tsubouchi (HOF), 6. Shosei Go (HOF), 7. Mitsuo Uno, 8. Takeshi Doigaki, 9. Juzo Sanada (HOF), 10. Jiro Noguchi (HOF), 11. Fumio Fujimura (HOF), 12. Giichiro Shiraki, 13. Tetsuya Iida (HOF), 14. Kaoru Betto (HOF), 15. Tetsuharu Kawakami (HOF), 16. Rentaro Imanishi, 17. Hiroshi Oshita (HOF), 18. Takehiko Bessho (HOF), area at lower right--Tadayoshi Kajioka, home plate center--Henry "Bozo" Wakabayashi (HOF) (Hawaii).
