Beginning with their first "crossed bats" issue in 1973, Calbee has produced literally thousands of cards featuring Sadaharu Oh over the decades. Among that multitude, 1973 JF 1 #7 holds the distinction of being the first Sadaharu Oh card printed by Calbee. This is the first card printed of Japan's greatest slugger by arguably Japan's premier baseball company. We present to you a difficult-to-obtain, high grade example of Oh's first Calbee card. All Calbee cards of the 1970s and 80s are extremely condition sensitive, as the corners and borders on the front are subject to chipping quite easily, and the white background backs almost invariably darken with age. This example is nearly pristine.
