The JGA 3 set of 128 cards is known for being one of a very few game card sets which contains cards of San Francisco Seals players. The entire set was originally published in 16 card sheets included with the January 1950 issue of Yakyu Shonen magazine (published in December 1949). One sheet in the set depicts members of the Seals team in commemoration of the Seals' Tour of Japan in 1949, which was one of the first post World War II cultural exchanges between the two countries. Although the Seals were a Pacific Coast League team, and not a Major League group (although their roster was stocked with many former and future major leaguers), this Tour may have been the most highly anticipated one in the history of U.S. Tours of Japan. The Japanese people flocked to the airport to greet the team. Everywhere the Seals went sightseeing, they were accompanied by hordes. Game attendance was also outstanding. All 16 players included in this set are offered here as individual cards. (top row, l to r) Dick Briskey, Brooks Holder, Jim Westlake, Frank Shofner (2nd row, l to r) Leroy Jarvis, Gene Brocker, Dario Lodigliani (3rd row, l to r) Dick Steinhauer, Dick Lajeskie, Bill Werle, Jackie Tobin, (bottom row, left to right) Con Dempsey, Milo Candini, Cliff Melton, Al Lien.
