Jiro Noguchi (1919-2007) pitched in Japan Pro Baseball from 1939 to 1953. As a rookie, he pitched in 459 innings and won 33 games. And that was just the beginning! From 1939 to 1942, Noguchi won 132 games (33 wins per season average), including 40 wins and 527 1/3 innings pitched in 1942. Noguchi is second all time in career ERA, no doubt helped by consecutive ERAs of 0.93, 0.88 and 1.19 from 1940 to 1942. After Noguchi returned from World War II service, he pitched and played both infield and outfield. The autograph is signed in fountain pen on a plain baseball.
