During the 1953 post season, the New York Giants journeyed to Japan to play a series of 14 games against Japan Pro Baseball opposition. Tickets to the five games that were played at Korakuen Stadium are quite unusual, as the stubs are glued onto the ticket, rather than being attached by perforation. Thus, what we have here is actually a full ticket. This game was played on November 1st between the Giants and the Central League All Stars. The Giants had their hitting shoes on that day, as they won 16-5 with Marv Grissom picking up the victory against Japan Hall of Fame member, Takehiko Bessho. The Giants clubbed seven round trippers that day, including three by pinch hitter extraordinaire, Dusty Rhodes. Hall of Famer Monte Irvin also hit one out that day, as did Japan Hall of Famer, Fumio Fujimura.
Size: Regular ticket: 6 3/4" X 3". Smaller attached ticket stub: 2 7/8" X 2".
Condition: Would be Nm except for a horizontal crease running across the ticket.
