This is a Sadaharu Oh Maruta rookie card. It features the Maruta logo on the back and is number 723241. It has been discovered that any JCM 40 card can have any menko number on the back, so the back number is unreliable method of identification for this set. This is one of two different Oh cards that are part of this issue. When Oh first came to the Yomiuri Giants, it was undecided as to whether he would become a pitcher or a hitter. Obviously, the team made the correct choice. However, as a result of the Giants' early indecision, there are a few different rookie cards, like this one, that depict Oh as a pitcher. All Sadaharu Oh rookie card collections deserve at least one card which shows him as a pitcher!
