This very attractive bust type portrait features a smiling Nishita in his team jacket. Only two examples of this card are known in the hobby. Nishita, a Hawaiian, attended famed St. Louis High School in Honolulu and then moved on the the University of California. He then headed to Japan and the Yomiuri Giants. Between 1952 and 1963, he spent six seasons pitching in Japan Pro Baseball. He also spent 1956, 57 and 62 as a U.S. minor league farmhand. In the States, he was a AA and AAA pitcher for Brooklyn Dodgers affiliates in Ft. Worth and Montreal. He was also a member of the P.C.L. Hawaii Islanders in 1962.
