According to the envelope, this item was called a "Home Run Present" and a "Fair Play Prize". The envelope also has "Meiji Gum" printed on it. However, the actual
phonograph record has an image of Meiji Nut Caramel candy. There are three images of Nagashima along with a facsimile early autograph. This could be an item from
Nagashima's rookie season from 1958, but we are not sure. The uniform he is wearing is pre-1961, and the autograph is of a pre-1960 style. The record features a
conversation (in Japanese) between Nagashima and famed Japanese sports announcer, Masanori Ochi. It is a 33 1/3" recording produced by RCA Victor. The reverse, according
to the title text, contains Meiji Confectionary theme songs. At left, we have the words and music to the Everyone Meiji Chocolate song. At right, we have words and lyrics
to the Meiji Gum Theme Song. We have no idea as to how someone could qualify to receive this prize. However, it is a unique piece from early in the career of Japan's most
popular player ever.
