Following the 1955 season, the New York Yankees toured Japan, playing 16 games, winning 15, with one ten inning tie. This enameled tie bar containing the Yankees team logo
was most likely presented to a player or dignitary from the Tour. On the back, the inscription states that the tie bar commemorates the Tour, and also includes the name of
the Tour's sponsoring newspaper. The lot includes the original wood box in which the tie bar was presented.
