The JGA 3 set of 128 cards is known for being one of a very few game card sets which contains cards of San Francisco Seals players.  The images commemorate the Seals' Tour of Japan in 1949, which was one of the first post World War II cultural exchanges between the two countries.  Although the Seals were a Pacific Coast League team, and not a Major League group (although their roster was stocked with many former and future major leaguers), this Tour may have been the most highly anticipated one in the history of U.S. Tours of Japan.  The Japanese people flocked to the airport to greet the team.  Everywhere the Seals went sightseeing, they were accompanied by hordes.  Game attendance was also outstanding.  The 12 players included in this group are: (top row, l to r) Bill Werle, Dick Briskey, Leroy Jarvis, Jackie Tobin, (2nd row, l to r) Reno Cheso, Milo Candini, Al Lien, Dario Lodigliani, (3rd row, l to r) Cliff Melton, Brooks Holder, Dick Steinhauer, Dick Briskey.

Size: Each card is 1 3/4" x 2 1/2".
