This original wire photo depicting the 1931 U.S. All-Star Tour of Japan team, along with their wives and Japanese dignitaries, was taken at the official residence of the Prime Minister in Tokyo. Notable players include Lou Gehrig, Lefty Grove and Mickey Cochrane. The hand written
caption on the back states "American major leaguers being entertained at tea by former Premier Wakatsuki at official residence of Prime Minister, Tokyo, November, 1931". There is a Sporting News Collection authentication sticker on the back.
