Meiji University traveled to the U.S. for the second time in April 1924, playing a total of 42 games between April 15th and July 8th. This photo was taken after a loss to Illinois University on May 22nd. Meiji played a variety of teams including the Seattle Japanese Team, San Jose Asahi, Fresno Japanese Team and even the Howard University team made up of African American players. Meiji finished the tour with a few games in Hawaii. Their won-loss record was 16-25-1.

The following four Japan Hall of Famers are included in this photo: Genzaburo Okada, Shunichi Amachi, Nobuaki Nidegawa and Saburo Yokozawa. Part of the original article from the May 25, 1924 newspaper is attached on the back. Crop marks and various notations have been made as well.
