In 1989, Lotte became one of the first Japanese manufacturers in several decades to sell packages containing baseball cards with gum. Each colorful American style blister pack contained delicious watermelon flavored gum along with one baseball card. Despite limited success in their first year of producing this type of product, Lotte gave it a second try in 1990 Disappointing sales in 1990 spelled the end of Lotte's involvement in the hobby until 2006. However, the Lotte cards, with their limited production numbers and attractiveness, remain popular with collectors. This lot consists of one box containing 30 unopened packs of 1990 Lotte baseball cards.

Each pack contains one card. Several Americans are part of the set including Ralph Bryant, Greg "Boomer" Wells and Mike Diaz. Cards of current or future HOF/Golden Players include Hiromitsu Ochiai (three time triple crown winner), Kazuhiro Kiyohara, Koji Akiyama, Hiromasa Arai, Yasunori Oshima, Yukio Tanaka, Hiromitsu Kadota, Choji Murata, Kazuyoshi Tatsunami, Norihiro Komada, Tatsunori Hara, Kenjiro Nomura and Kimiyasu Kudo. Also, the rookie card the illustrious Hideki Irabu is part of this set, as well as an early card of former New York Mets star Masato Yoshii. Obviously, we don't know which cards you'll pull if you open the packs, but there will be some stars.

Size: Each card is 2 1/8" x 3 3/8"

Condition: All cards are in unopened packs and should be Mint as issued. Each piece of gum is packed in a special wrapper, so there will be no gum stains or residue on the cards. The perforation on the box top has been broken, so this cannot be regarded as an unopened box. However, all packs are the same ones that were originally placed in the box by the manufacturer.
