This set is quite similar in design to the 1965 JGA 39 set. There are 14 baseball players, 11 sumo wrestlers, one boxer, one pro wrestler, and 27 cards of entertainers. Nine baseball HOFers--Sadaharu Oh (868 HR), Shigeo Nagashima (Japan's Mickey Mantle), Isao Harimoto (Japan's greatest hitter?), Masaichi Kaneda (400 wins, 4,490 Ks), Minoru Murayama (Man of Flames), Kazuhisa Inao (40 game winner in one season), Kazuhiro Yamauchi, Yoshio Yoshida and Shinichi Eto. Others are Kondo-Whales, Jonouchi-Giants (rookie), Ozaki-Flyers, Kuwata-Whales and Dobashi-Flyers.

Sumo Yokozuna (Grand Champions) include Taiyo (Greatest of All Time), Kashiwado, Sadanoyama and Tochinoumi. Among the entertainment celebrities is Kyu Sakamoto, best known to Americans as the singer of the pop classic Sukiyaki, who took his record to number 1 on the US charts in 1962. Sakamoto later died tragically in the 1970s in a commercial plane crash. Wrestler Rikidozan and boxer Fighting Harada round out the people pictured in this set.

Nearly all cards are in outstanding condition with sharp corners and no darkening or fading.

Size: Each card is approximately 1 3/4" x 2 3/4"

Condition: Near Mint to Mint
