Mizuhara played for the Giants 1936-1942, as well as 7 games in 1950. He managed the Giants from 1950 to 1960, winning eight Central League pennants and four Japan Series. Later, he managed the Flyers and Dragons until retiring in 1971. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1977.
This Shin Kobai Caramel card is one of the rarest, since the collector, upon redeeming the Mizuhara card, would receive the best prizes offered by the company. It is known that the Mizuhara card was produced in a low quantity compared the rest of the set.
