While JCM 43 black & white cards are rare, JCM 31 B&W cards are extremely rare. Examples of cards from this set have been seen on only a few occasions. So few cards from this issue have been found, that the issue remains uncatalogued, and it cannot be established whether it is a 1958 or 1959 set. If JCM 43 is any indication, the "handwritten" style of the text on the card causes us to lean in the 1958 direction. Nagashima shares his card with Dragons slugger Toru Mori. The other card is of Lions second baseman Yasuo Takeuchi. This card is definitely missing from nearly all Nagashima collections.
Size: Each card would be 1 13/16" x 3" if cut from the pair. The pair is 3 5/8" x 3".
