This card, most likely produced around 1950, is widely regarded to depict basketball Hall of Famer George Mikan. Mikan played professionally from 1946-1956. The only text on this card says "Football" adding to its mystery. While not much is known about this card, it is still popular among Mikan collectors and early NBA card collectors. Mikan was named to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in its inaugural year (1959) and was named one of the NBA's 50 greatest players in 1996. He is generally regarded as basketball's first great "big man".
