Hoshi Gangu cards are one of the most popular and collectible issues from the 1950s. Gold border cards are significantly scarcer than the regular white border cards, and have a scarcity factor of R3 according to the Japanese Baseball Card Checklist and Price Guide. This example of a second year Shigeo Nagashima. A Yakult Swallows player is visible in the background.

Only three examples of this card have been authenticated by any major grading company. PSA has graded only two examples including this one, while SGC has graded only one. CGC has not graded any. This card was graded a 4 (MC) because of a severe miscut on the reverse side. However, the front appears much stronger than a typical PSA 4.
