JBR 74a cards were premiums that could be selected by JBR 74 card holders possessing cards with a manufacturer's winner number stamped on the back. The manufacturer has stamped the players' names and team in parentheses on the back of this card. We have never before seen this premium. The set was issued from 1947 through 1948, however, we know that Kaoru Betto was a 1948 rookie, hence the 1948 attribution.
Kaoru Betto played in only 89 games in 1948, but hit .328. As a result, he was named to the year's Best 9 outfield. Fujimura was named to the Best 9 team that year as a third baseman.
Size: 4 3/4" x 6 1/2"
Condition: Good. The extra paper and glue seen on the back is the result of the card having been issued by the manufacturer as a second prize winner on a display sheet. All JBR 74a cards contain this extra paper and glue.
