Haruyasu Nakajima (1910-1987) became Japan's first triple crown winner during the 1938 fall season. A pitcher for the Matsumoto Shogyo high school team, Nakajima played on the Koshien National High School Baseball Tournament winning team in 1928. He then starred for Waseda University.
With the advent of Japan Pro Baseball, Nakajima joined the Yomiuri Giants as an outfielder. He had a powerful arm and often threw out runners at first base on ground balls hit to him in the outfield. A feared slugger, he led the league in homers twice, RBIs four times and hits three times. This autograph was signed in light blue ink.
