With 400 career wins and 4,490 career strikeouts, it's no wonder that Masaichi Kaneda received contract offers from both the New York Yankees and New York Giants. In 1958, Kaneda had his finest season with a 31-14 won-loss record, 311 strikeouts and a 1.30 ERA.

Of the 70 known cards in this set, there are nine different Kaneda cards and 16 different rookie cards of Shigeo Nagashima. Most other players appearing in the set have only one or two different cards. This gives us an idea as to how great a pitcher Masaichi Kaneda was. We can infer that he was the second most popular player in Japan Pro Baseball at the time, despite pitching for a team that was a perennial also ran. The autograph is a facsimile. The card is blank backed.

Size: 5" x 7 1/2"

Condition: Would be Ex/Mt but "NO-53" is stamped on the blank back, most likely not by the manufacturer.
