The JCM 151 Play Baseball All Natural Color Cards set has been assigned a scarcity factor of R5 in Japanese Baseball Cards Checklist & Price Guide, Vintage Edition 3.0 by Gary Engel, which means that five or fewer copies of each card exist. That's rare enough, but here we have one of only two known product display sheets filled with JCM 151 cards!
The JCM 151 set consists of 50 different cards. 30 of the cards depict Japan Hall of Fame members as follows: Victor Starffin (Russia), Tetsuharu Kawakami (3 diff.), Kawakami w/ Noboru Aota, Noboru Aota (2 diff.), Kaoru Betto, Bozo Wakabayashi (Hawaii), Michio Nishizawa, Katsumi Shiraishi, Shosei Go (Taiwan), Kazuto Tsuruoka, Takehiko Bessho (2 diff.), Tokuji Iida, Fumio Fujimura (3 diff.), Hideo Fujimoto, Shigeru Chiba (2 diff.), Hiroshi Oshita (4 diff.), Michinori Tsubouchi, Makoto Kozuru, Hiroshi Nakao. We haven't counted how many of the 132 cards on the sheet depict HOFers, but we can comfortably say that they comprise a majority of the cards. The card backs contain a menko number, a product logo and a fact about the player pictured on the front.
All cards on the display sheet are part of multi card uncut panels--some as large as 21 cards. Each panel is affixed to the display sheet with a dab or two of glue, Therefore, the vast majority of the cards would not contain any glue marks if the panels were removed from the paper sheet backing.
This item would make a wonderful mounted display.
Size: Each card is approximately 1 3/8" x 2 7/8".
Condition: Most of the cards would grade Near Mint or better if the panels were removed from the sheet and cut into single cards. About 10% would have paper and glue residue on the back. The display sheet is in tatters, In fact, the top portion has separated from the rest of the sheet.
