Sadaharu Oh was inducted into the Japan baseball Hall of Fame in 1994. As is the case in the US Hall of Fame, a bronze plaque commemorating Oh and his achievements was commissioned. Additionally, 3,000 smaller commemorative bronze plaques were issued. Each commemorative plaque came encased in a small wooden presentation box with a facsimile signature of Oh on the lid. The Japanese information on the bottom portion of this plaque duplicates the info found on the original. It details Oh's 55 HR in a season and 868 in his career, his nine MVP awards, his 18 years named to the Best 9 team, etc. The plaque is felt backed and has a wooden stand attached. This is the next best thing to owning Oh's original plaque which hangs at the Japan Baseball Hall of Fame at the Tokyo Dome.
