On August 30, 1978, Sadaharu Oh smashed his 800th career home run at Korakuen Stadium off of Taiyo Whales lefthander, Hiroshi Okawa, in the 6th inning. This banner, made primarily of synthetic materials, celebrates one of the greatest career batting accomplishments ever. The Japanese text across the top line reads, "Home run #800 commemoration". A facsimile Sadaharu Oh signature is also seen on the banner. This item is a special keepsake which commemorates a legendary event of baseball history. Sadaharu Oh would go on to hit another 68 home runs before retiring at the end of the 1980 season.
