This is the first time that we have ever seen an example of this pennant.

In 1972, the Yomiuri Giants won their eighth consecutive Japan Series championship. The team was led by the immortal Sadaharu Oh and Shigeo Nagashima. Oh slugged 48 homers that season, and both he and Nagashima were named to the Central League Best 9 team.

This very large felt pennant was produced at the time of the Giants winning the 1972 Japan Series. Autographs of Sadaharu Oh and Shigeo Nagashima were added much later. In fact, Nagashima's autograph appears to be one of his rarely seen autographs that he signed subsequent to suffering a stroke in 2004.
