Umpire Doug Harvey was nicknamed "God" by major league players. He was a commanding presence behind the plate at National League games from 1962 to 1992. He was almost universally rated as the best umpire of his era. In 2010, he was elected to the Baseball Hall of fame.

In 1966, Doug Harvey accompanied the Los Angeles Dodgers on their post season Tour of Japan to work as an umpire. This autographed baseball belonged to his personal collection. "Japenese (sic) Allstars Dodger Tour 1966" is printed on a label affixed to the ball.

Ten All Japan Team players autographed this ball both in Japanese and English including Sadaharu Oh (HOF), Tsuneo Horiuchi (HOF), Shinichi Eto (HOF), Isao Shibata (Golden Player), Akira Kunimatsu, Kazumi Takahashi, Yukinobu Kuroe, Shozo Doi, Minoru Nakamura and Kentaro Ogawa. The ball was produced by Tamazawa, and was most likely the type of baseball used during the tour.

From the Doug Harvey Collection

Size: Regular Japanese baseball size

Condition: The ball exhibits some dirt and scuffing, notably over part of Sadaharu Oh's English signature. Possibly lightly shellacked. Autographs generally grade 6 to 8 out of 10.
