Produced by the Showa Memory Sheet Co., this Katsuya Nomura 45 rpm record bromide with facsimile signature was sold in various manners during the years 1962 and 1963. The card is reminiscent of the American made Auravision Records of the same era. The product is referred to as a "voice star bromide" on the back. If you play the record, you will hear Katsuya Nomura speak. The original product protective cover slip is included with the card.

Two of the JBR 64 cards featuring Sadaharu Oh and Shigeo Nagashima were produced in much larger quantities than the other cards in the set, which are quite scarce. Fewer than 10 copies of the Nomura card are known to exist. In fact, this is the first example that we have ever offered at auction.

Katsuya Nomura, a catcher, belted 657 home runs during 27 year career (1954-1980). He was perhaps the Pacific League's greatest pre-Ichiro player and certainly the best catcher in the history of Japanese baseball. He was selected to the Best 9 team for 13 consecutive seasons. He won the triple crown in 1965. After retirement, he went on to become a very successful manager.

Size: 4 13/16" x 5 5/8"

Condition: Vg/Ex due to minor peeling on the back at the upper left corner.
