JCM 143 cards are incredibly rare. This is the first time we have ever had the opportunity to offer cards of any player appearing in JCM 143 to the public. Japanese Baseball Cards Checklist & Price Guide, Vintage Edition 3.0 has assigned a scarcity factor of R5 to the set, indicating that five or fewer copies of each card are known to exist. The bookmark style cards have a form on the back which may be used by a student to fill out his or her class schedule.

Satoru Kobayashi, a catcher, starred at Tokyo Imperial University in the Tokyo Big Six League from 1928 to 1930. He served as team captain for the 1930 season. Prior to his university days, he played for powerful Matsuyama High School, winners of the 1927 National High School Baseball Championships at Koshien. We have not been able to find any information about Kobayashi after 1930.
