In 2022, Yoshinobu Yamamoto nearly duplicated his spectacular 2021 season. He earned his second consecutive Pacific League MVP, Sawamura Award (Japan Cy Young), Best 9 and Golden Glove. Not surprisingly, in 2023, Yamamoto won all these awards for the third consecutive year.  We are now all anxiously awaiting his U.S. Major League Baseball debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers.  

Nearly all Japanese baseball players abandon the signature they used in Japan after arriving in the United States.  So, it is likely that Yamamoto will no longer be using the autograph found on this card.
