The 1949 Yomiuri Giants ran roughshod over their Japan Pro Baseball competition, finishing the season with a won loss record of 85-48-1. Second place Hankyu finished 16 games behind! The Giants' roster included eight future Hall of Fame members and their manager is a Hall of Famer as well. No wonder the Giants were so dominant. All the Hall of Famers posed for this portrait--Tetsuharu Kawakami, Noboru Aota, Shigeru Chiba, Haruyasu Nakajima, Takehiko Bessho, Katsumi Shiraishi, Hiroshi Nakao and Hideo Fujimoto.
