The JDM 2 mask diecut set may
be the most popular Japanese set among today's collectors. This, the key card
in the set, features the greatest hitter of the 1940s and 50s, Tetsuharu
Kawakami. Kawakami played for the Yomiuri Giants from 1938 to 1958.
During that time, he won three league MVP awards, and he was selected to the
Best 9 team in 10 different seasons. He also played on 13 championship teams.
Kawakami's managerial career was equally
impressive, as his Giants won 11 pennants during his 14 years as manager,
including an incredible nine consecutive Japan Series championships. This
example is in top condition, with the eye and ear holes still intact and
unpunched.
