A beautiful image of Tom Seaver is found on the face of this 1,500 yen ticket. The reverse side of the ticket contains an ad for a snack product called Curl, a product of the Meiji Co.

Interestingly, the ticket is for the game of 10/27/74, which was rained out.  This game between the Mets and the Yomiuri Giants at Korakuen Stadium was actually played on 10/28. Jon Matlack was the Mets' starting pitcher. The game was called after 10 innings with the score tied at 4-4.

The Mets had a record of 9-7-2 on the Tour against various Japan Pro Baseball opposition. During this series of 18 games, Sadaharu Oh batted .322 with an on base percentage of .481 and slugged six homers. Tom Seaver, Jerry Koosman and John Matlack started 15 of the 18 games, which helps to bolster arguments that Oh would have been a top hitter in the U.S. had he been given a chance to play there.

Size: Ticket--7 1/2" x 2 5/8".

Condition: Would be Nm if not for the vertical fold in the center.
