During the 1950s, the Kobai Caramel Co. produced nearly 40 baseball card sets. Almost all of them are quite scarce. In part, this is due to the thin card stock on which the cards were printed. As a result, many cards were degraded to the point that they were eventually thrown away by the owners. The various colorful designs and color images, along with the scarcity have contributed to the popularity of this set, especially in Japan.

The 1951 JF 10 set has eight different varieties, all related to the text on the front and back. All JF 10 types feature colorized player headshots on a solid color background. Type 8 is slightly scarcer than Types 6 and 7, but all are difficult to find.

The four cards in this lot are: (top row left) Type 8 Noboru Aota (HOF), (top row right) Type 7 Hideo Fujimoto (HOF), (bottom row left) Type 6 Fukuzo Tada, (bottom row right) Type 6 Kiyoshi Matsuda.

Size: Each card is 1 5/8" x 2 1/4".

Condition: Range--Fair to Vg. Average--Good.
