This plastic coated tote bag, apparently produced by the Matsushiro Co. of Osaka, contains a large, facsimile autographed photo of Sadaharu Oh and Shigeo Nagashima on one side, and a facsimile autographed photo of young future Hall of Famer Tsuneo Horiuchi on the other side.
In 1966, Horiuchi, at age 18, was Central League Rookie of the Year, going 16-2, with a league leading 1.38 ERA. Given the early Horiuchi autograph on the bag, how youthful he looks in the photo, his solo appearance on the bag, and the fact that despite all his great seasons, his rookie year was his most exceptional, we would guess that the bag was produced either in 1966 or 1967.
This is the first time we have ever bought, sold, auctioned, or even seen this bag.
