The scarce Jintan Gum sets (JF 8 and JF 9) are highly prized by collectors, in part for their whimsical, chewing gum stick shape. The cards were sold in packages about the size of the traditional Wrigleys five pack. Each package contained one baseball card, along with the individually wrapped pieces of gum, hence the unusual shape.

Kazuhisa Inao was known as The Ironman. He set a single season record when he won a Japan all time best 42 games in 1961. He also won over 30 games in a season on three other occasions. His lifetime ERA is a phenomenal 1.98. He was named Pacific League MVP on two occasons.

Possibly, his most amazing feat occurred in 1958. He pitched in all of the last nine regular season games to help the Lions capture the Pacific League pennant by a margin of one game. Then, in the Japan Series, he appeared in six of the seven games, winning four.
