This is the only example known of this card. Sekine is seen here wearing his Kintetsu Pearls uniform that was worn by team members from 1950 to 1952. While we have never seen this card before, it is of a general style that was produced during the 1950 and 1951 seasons. Since Sekine's rookie season was 1950, there is a good chance that this is a Sekine rookie card. This item was most likely a second prize winner card attached to a display sheet.

Junzo Sekine was a Japan Hall of Famer as a pitcher, outfielder, manager and commentator. His entire 16 year career was spent with the usually lowly Kintetsu Buffaloes (previously Kintetsu Pearls), where he won 65 games and had 1,137 hits. The slight (5' 7", 145 lb.) lefthander ultimately gained his greatest fame as an analyst on Japan Pro Baseball television programs. Blank backed card.

Size: 4" x 5 5/8"

Condition: Vg/Ex with extra paper remnants on the blank back from previous attachment to a display sheet as issued. All examples will have these remnants.
