Kaoru Betto was a right handed hitting, bespectacled outfielder, best known to Americans as the player whose visage is seen on the iconic shirt worn by Jeff Bridges in the movie, The Big Lebowski. 1949 was his second year in Japan Pro Baseball, and his final year with the Osaka Tigers. That season, he batted .322 with an impressive 39 homers and 126 RBIs. Betto finished his career as a member of the Mainichi Orions. Blank backed.
