Joe DiMaggio is featured in the upper left corner of the player card, sporting his usual #5 on the back. Japan HOFer Makoto Kozuru is depicted in the larger image. This card has special significance because Kozuru was known as Japan's Joe DiMaggio. Not surprisingly, the reading card that accompanies this player card proclaims that very fact in Japanese text. In 1949, this card's year of issue, DiMaggio batted .346, while Kozuru batted .361. Maybe DiMaggio should be known as the Kozuru of the United States! Both the player card and reading card are blank backed.
