The blue magazine with the Mickey Mantle cover is one of the most popular pieces of vintage Japanese sports memorabilia ever produced. This copy is one of the higher grade examples that we've seen. Published by Sunday Mainichi, it is devoted entirely to the 1955 New York Yankees Tour of Japan. The Mick appears here on what is generally considered to be his most attractive Japanese magazine cover. The first eight pages are large black and white photos of each Yankee with names printed in English. Most of the remaining pages contain photos, bios and year-by-year statistics for each Yankee player. Japanese text.
