According to the Japanese text at the bottom on the front, this postcard was originally inserted into Boken Oh (Adventure King) Magazine as a New Year's present to readers. However, the year is not specified. We presume that it would have been included in either the January 1959 issue (published in December 1958), or the February 1959 issue (published in January 1959). So, technically the postcard could have been published late in Nagashima's rookie year of 1958. The postcard includes Nagashima's rookie era facsimile autograph. The uniform that he is wearing was discontinued after the 1959 season. The vertical text at right of the image states, "New Year's congratulations". Unused.
