This is the first time that we have ever encountered this set. We are assuming that the cards in this lot constitute a complete set, but there conceivably could be additional uncut sheets. We also assume, due to the size of the sheets and
the style of the cards, that the uncut sheets first appeared in a magazine, as was common during the 1950s. There are 16 different subjects in the set, each having three cards. The baseball players appearing in the set include Shigeo
Nagashima (HOF) (Rookie), Masaichi Kaneda (HOF), Kazuhisa Inao (HOF), Tetsuharu Kawakami (HOF) and Andy Miyamoto (Hawaii). Three sumo stars are also included: Yokozuna (grand champions) Wakanohana and Asashio, plus
ozeki (second rank) Kotogahama. The remaining cards feature entertainment celebrities. Blank backed.
Size: Each uncut sheet is 7 1/2" x 10 1/2". Each card is 1 1/4" x 2 1/4".
Condition: The sheets are Vg. Most cards would be at least Ex/Mt if cut from the sheet. However, one Kaneda card and one Nagashima card are low grade.
