We know very little about Takayoshi Okada. However, we do know that he was a catcher for Keio University in the Tokyo Big Six University League during the Fall 1929 and Spring 1930 seasons. We also know that he represented Japan
in a Far East Baseball Tournament held at Jingu Stadium in May 1930, sharing catching duties with Hall of Fame member Masao Date. Okada never played pro baseball. In any case, this is a rare card, as the Japanese Baseball Card
Checklist & Price Guide, Vintage Edition 2.1 has assigned a scarcity factor of R5 to the JCM 142 set, indicating that five or fewer copies are known.
